Iranian dates such as sayer dates, mazafati dates, zahedi dates, kabkab dates, rabbi dates and piarum dates are exported from Iran to whole world.
More than seven million tons of dates are produced in the world every year, with Iran’s date ranking second after Egypt with the production of one million tons and having 14% of the world’s dates, but it ranks seventh in the export of this economic product.
245 thousand hectares are the area under cultivation of palm groves in Iran of which about 184 thousand hectares are fertile and an average of 4.5 to 5.5 tons per hectare is harvested.
